One of the things that I love to do with Tonik is to support causes and events that I believe in and that I think are doing great work. So I was happy last month to get the opportunity to support Habitat for Humanity East Bay / Silicon Valley at their Cycle of Hope ride in Palo Alto, California.
More than 700 riders braved the steep hills between the San Francisco Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean to help Habitat East Bay /Silicon Valley raise over $250,000 to support their critical work of getting families into homes with affordable mortgages. Most of Tonik's sales that day went to support Habitat too!
I also had the fun of introducing Tonik to some new fans, including Jane, who did the ride wearing her husband's hand-me-down... and threw hubby's shirt out as soon as she stopped by the Tonik booth! So many of our customers have been EXACTLY there!!
From a difficulty perspective, this ride was a killer and I did not have ANY of the "ride envy" that I sometimes suffer in the booth. Here is an interesting detailed account of it from a rider I met who had made his own bike!
It was a fun ride event and likely the last of 2019 of Tonik's 2019 ride appearances. A good one to finish up with!
